From where do you receive your creative inspiration?
When I’m in the creative mindset -- which isn’t always easy to tap into -- anything can inspire me. A couple sure fire ways of tapping into my creative side is simply being in a good mood or being around motivated, fun people. Oddly enough, learning new information (particularly theology-based information) does the trick, too. Being passionate about something prompts ideas to address needs. Being exceedingly bored sparks my creativity in an effort to stay sane. The variety of people I follow on twitter lead me to inspiring material. Finally, the ‘ol creativity stand-by: doodling.
The best thing about working for a small company?
It’s exciting to work for a company this size. Everyone knows each other very personally and makes a significant impact on projects, contributing to the growth of the business.
An average day:
My routine seems to go in seasons but I like to start every day with a decent-sized breakfast and brief alone time to gather myself before the day begins. After checking emails and seeking inspiration from design blogs I begin my work. Although I’m a designer by trade, my heart lies in illustration and typography so the projects I enjoy the most are identity development and creating infographics or any illustration-related project. When the workday is over, I enjoy coming home and eating supper around the dinner table, possibly squeezing in a work out or playing basketball and if the weather is nice I’ll take a cruise on my motorcycle.

I graduated with a BFA in graphic design from the University of Northern Iowa
